Amethyst was created millions of years ago in an untold variety of volcanic actions occurring all over the world. The difference in size and color represent subtle geologic variations during formation and the effects of water erosion over time. Ours is the most complete representation of Amethyst specimens that we know of. Amethyst from Uruguay is notable because of its unusual deep purple color.
